Had to go to the Japanese Consulate the other day to hand in my Work Visa application. Out of all the Visa's we had to apply for this was the only one you had to go to the Embassy or Consulate in person to hand in the forms. What a pain!!! I was pretty worried as it was left right until the last minute and just by luck i got my passport delivered home just in time!
